Burnt wood, or Shou Sugi Ban, or Yakisugi, is an ancestral technique of Japanese origin which consists of burning the surface of the wood to transform it into a carbon layer. This protects the wooden surface and gives it an unbeatable aesthetic appearance. This technique is now increasingly used in the manufacture of exterior cladding. To enhance the black appearance and preserve the protective properties of burnt wood, we have developed a burnt wood protector PB600. Available in a clear or black version.

Especially dedicated to the protection of burnt wood, this product is neutral for the environment and the applicator.

GUIDE TO BURNT WOOD PROTECTOR
PREPARE THE SURFACE IN SHOU SUGI BAN
Simply ensure that the burnt wood has not been covered with a film-forming finish beforehand.

USING THE PROTECTOR
The protector is ready for use. Always shake the protector well before application. Do not dilute the protector.
Make sure that the ambient temperature is between +10°C and +35°C. Avoid using the product in rainy weather or in direct sunlight.
Apply gently with a spalter, roller (short hair) or sprayer, without pressing to avoid damaging the surface carbon layer.
Apply in several passes to ensure good impregnation of the product. 2 to 3 coats of the burnt wood protector are sufficient. It is possible to wait 12 hours between each pass, but not more than 24 hours.

DRYING
Allow to dry. Wait at least 24 hours before putting back on the road.
Take some precautions during the first days.

PROFESSIONAL ADVICE
We recommend that you test the burnt wood protector on a scrap or an inconspicuous area beforehand to appreciate the final result. To get an idea, you can consult the photo gallery Burnt Wood Protector PB600
The carbon layer is very fragile in its raw state. We advise to apply the product gently to avoid tearing the carbon.

MAINTENANCE OF BURNT WOOD SURFACES
MAINTAINING YOUR BURNT WOOD
